The
Auction Rules
1.
Eligibility of Bidders: the Auction is open only to
calendar year 2005 dues paying members of the ND Club of Memphis who
reside within the geographical boundaries of the ND Club of Memphis
as defined by the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association.
For persons who are not currently dues paying members of club, new
memberships to qualify for eligibility in the auction are available
only to Notre Dame alumni, parents of current students, and for friends
of the university, those who have previously been members of the Notre
Dame Club of Memphis. In order to activate or renew your club membership,
2. Items to be Auctioned: there are 10 tickets
available. Bidding will be for 5 pairs of tickets. Each bidder
may only bid on 1 pair of tickets. There can only be 1 bidder
per family. Pairs
of tickets may or may not be seated together. This is dependent on
the allotment of tickets from the university. If the club receives
an additional allotment of tickets, then the highest non-winning bidders
will have the opportunity to purchase those tickets at the lowest
winning bid price for the original 5 pairs.
3. Bidding Amounts: the minimum starting bid
is $150 for a pair of tickets. Bids may be raised in even $5.00 increments
of at least $5.00 per ticket-pair. Bids not in even increments
of $5.00 will be rejected.
4. The Bid Itself: bidders will submit their
bids via email to the Ticket
Auctioneer . The Auctioneer is not eligible to bid.
| Each
bid must contain these 3 elements.
Amount of the bid.
Actual name of the bidder.
The bidder's initials or pseudo-name or "handle".
The
bidder's initials or pseudo-name will be the name listed on
the Leader Board on the website. Actual names will not be
published on the web site. The bidder's initials or pseudo-name
must have at least 3 letters and no more than 15.

|
Rule
of Uniqueness: in the case of duplicate initials or
pseudo-names, the Auctioneer will append a number to the initials
or pseudo-name for unique identification and the bidder will be notified
by email. Ensuing bids must use the same unique or Auctioneer-amended
initials or pseudo-name.
5. Tie-Breakers: bids of equal value
from different bidders will be given priority based on the time at
which they arrive in the Ticket Auctioneer's email in-box.
6. The Winners: the top 5 bidders as of 6:00 PM CDT
on Thursday, September 15, 2005 will each receive 2 tickets.
Equal
bids will be placed in order on the priority list by time of arrival
with the earliest being placed at the top of the list.
The
price of the tickets are based on each of the 5 individual winning
bids, therefore, all ticket pairs may or may not be sold at the same
price.
For example, if the following are the top 8 bids received with initials:
1. $200 Knute
2. $195 Lou
3. $190 Dan
4. $185 Hunk
5. $175 Ara (bid
received at 4:23 PM)
6. $175 Frank
(bid received at 5:45 PM)
7. $160 W The Coach
8. $155 Elmer.
The top 5 win the auction. Knute will get a pair for $200. Lou
will pay $195 and so on. Since Ara placed the first $175 bid, he will
win a pair of tickets for $175. If 2 additional pairs of tickets
become available, then Frank and W will each have the opportunity
to purchase the tickets for $175 for the pair.
7. Checks: to redeem the winning bids, checks
should be made to the Notre Dame Club of Memphis and mailed to:
Pat
Mason
4715 Spottswood,
Memphis,
Tennessee 38117
If a check is not received by September 20, 2005, then those tickets
will be sold to the next highest bidder. The cost of the tickets in
this situation will be the original winning bid price.
8. The Leader Board: The ND Club of Memphis
website will maintain an Auction Leader
Board which will be updated periodically during the contest with
the initials or pseudo-names of the top 5 bidders and the amounts
of the bids.
The
final updated Leader Board will be posted as soon as possible after
the Auction deadline.
To
view the current Auction Leader Board, click on the ND-UT "Rivalry
Resumes" icon at the top of this announcement.
It
is the bidder's responsibility to check the status of bids on the
ND Club of Memphis website at www.ndmemphis.com
.
It
is anticipated that the site will be updated twice a day, during the
morning and evening, but updates are dependent on the schedule of
the Ticket Auctioneer.
9. Scalping: winners agree the tickets
may not be scalped or otherwise publically sold in a way not in accordance
with the rules of the University of Notre Dame Athletic Department.
10. Benefit to the ND Club of Memphis: the
prices paid for the tickets above the $112 face value for the ticket-pair
will be applied to the ND Club of Memphis' scholarship fund and other
special projects as determined by the Board.
Thanks For
Bidding!
